Newtonards Chronicle, Saturday 31 October 1914 - Description of the application for compensation for the burning of Ballymenoch House on 3rd July 1914 and evidence against the accused. Details of two cases are described, one on behalf of Mrs. Annie Dixon and Major Daniel Dixon for the sum of £7850 as compensation for the setting fire to and damaging and destroying the mansion house and another claiming £5060 4s 10d for damages to furniture, goods and effects.
