Ulster Echo 1914 - Detail of the repeal of the Cat and Mouse Act - the 1913 Prisoners (Temporary Discharge for Ill-Health) Act - which allowed for the early release of prisoners, especially Suffragettes, who were so weakened by hunger striking that they were at risk of death. The jury returned 'If these demented creatures will die, so be it. Let them die'.
